Detail

“The Bonggangsa Shrine was established in 1812 by the Geumseong Na family clan to be dedicated to Songwa Na Mun-gyu, who served as Annyeomsa of Seohaedo in the Goryeo period, and Jukheon Na Gye-jong.

Songwa Na Mun-gyu was born in Oryuchon Village, and passed the civil service examination during the reign of King Chunghye. He served as Myeonggyeongbaksa, and was appointed Annyeomsa of Seohae during King Gongmin’s rule. On the other hand, Jukheon Na Gye-jong served as Yemungwanjehak under King Gongyang, and returned home to Naju, where he built a thatched house in Seokgan-dong and planted pines and bamboos nearby. This is why he came to be called Jukheon.

A roof was installed around 1951 to create a 1 kan (measurement unit) of space on four sides. This is why the building looks like a two-story building from the outside. The Bonggangsa Shrine hosts the Geumseong Na clan gathering, and is also used a pavilion by the villagers.”
