Introducing famous Naju attractions with a special charm.
Its beauty comes from the harmony of history and modern culture within. The spiritual healing offered by Naju comes from this harmony.
The Naju National Museum was established
with the aim of preserving and exhibiting archeological materials found in the
Yeongsangang river basin and functioning as a storage for the cultural assets
discovered in the Honam region.
It became the first national museum to be
erected outside the city center, and it serves a dual function as a historical
park away from the hustle and bustle of the city where people can unwind in a
slow and relaxing environment.
The Naju National Museum is also an open
cultural space where culture and frontier technologies have been incorporated
together. It became the first museum in Korea to introduce an exhibition
information system, which involves the use of the near-field communication (NFC)
technology combined with smartphones. The system allows visitors to receive
information on the exhibitions on the smartphones, and share the information on
social media.
Of the six storages, two storages have
large viewing windows for the visitors to see what’s inside, and these
open-type storages allow for more experience-based exhibitions. There is a
rooftop garden for people to enjoy the outdoor environment as well. As such,
there are many places within and outside the museum, where people can engage in
experiential learning experiences.
