The Yeongsangang River, one of Korea's five major rivers, flows 115.5 km through Damyang, Gwangju, and Naju before reaching Mokpo. Despite being the shortest of the five, it has abundant water flow, supports fertile granaries like the Naju Plains, and holds historical and cultural significance, including its name's origin tied to legends and state use during the Goryeo Dynasty.
