“Bosanjeongsa is where eight classical scholars, born and raised in this village, mastered academic disciplines and fostered students from the reign of King Jungjong until the reign of Seonjo of the Joseon Dynasty. It is a larger and older storied building compared to the Bosansa Shrine, and it was built in the form of an auditorium, which is quite rare.
Past the outer three gates of Bosanjeongsa, there are Dongjae and Seojae rooms on the left and right, with Bosanjeongsa seated in between. Slightly left to the central axis, there are stairs that lead up to a hill, where there are three inner gates with a shrine in front of them. The Bosansa Shrine is dedicated to eight individuals who served as civil officials.
It is said to have originally been built in the 22nd year of King Jeongjo’s reign, but the present-day building was actually reconstructed in the 1900s.
