“The House of Hong Gi-jong, situated deep inside the village, was designated as Jeollanam-do Folk Material No. 10 on February 7, 1986. The anchae is estimated to have been built in the late 19th century, while the sarangchae is known to have been built in 1947 based on the records “Dangi 4280 nyeon” shown in the Sangnyangmun (Buiding Erection Records). The anchae and sarangchae were built using the typical construction methods that were representative of that particular period, and thus they provide information on how private homes were built at the time.
The anchae faces south, with an araechae to its west. Gwangchae is situated in the eastern part of the anmadang, and there is a heotganchae on the south and sarangchae on the west.
