“At Bulhoesa, there is the Clay Standing Bodhisattva, designated as Jeollanam-do Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 267. It consists of the statues of the attendant Buddha (Bodhisattva) on both sides of the main Buddha, and is speculated to have been made in the early 15th century. It is highly valued as it is one of the earliest Buddhist statues and displays excellent artistic quality. It also provides a glimpse into the sculpture trends from the Goryeo and early Joseon periods, and for this reason, it is considered to have high historical and artistic value.”
